Merry Christmas!
It’s been five months since the birth of my youngest. These days I spend more time teaching this one to paint than doing it myself. She’s been very productive in the last number of months, it will soon be my turn to take some time for my own art. 2019 has some big adventures in store for our family, stay tuned.
Happy holidays to you and yours, and peace be with you in the new year.

A bunch of years ago I sculpted this sign for @rathskellermd. At the time of sculpting it, it kinda looked like an awkward ring, but @johnoc69 had a vision. Here it is in its complete envisioned glory. The Rathskeller is officially open with it’s sister business @screaminagnes coffee shop upstairs. If you’re in Elkridge, MD it’s a must visit! I am so happy to have been a part of this business and see this awesome work come to life.
The ring is designed based off of a family “church key” design picturing Father Rhine and Daughter Mosel. The Rathskeller is a German inspired wine bar. There is some more collaborative works by @johnoc69 and I of fun drinking German skeletons, stop by to check them out!
About a month ago we welcomed our second little girl, Ms. T, into the world five weeks early. My days have looked kinda like this with a lot less sleep for me.
One project I was working on kinda fell through and I wasn’t able to finish other things I planned on before this LO came, but here we are. This is the season of my life right now.
Painting Glaciers is hard. My husband and I are expecting our second child in August and decided to take a little “babymoon” to Iceland, in between soaks in hot springs I was able to paint this one painting of a glacier from life. Such a beautiful challenge.
Here is a detail of a painting, “Lettuce Take a Stand”, which I finished a month ago for the Swains’s Annual Miniature show that opened last night. It is on view and available at Swains’s Gallery in Plainfield, NJ.

Thinking about working on this one some more. All this was done from life, and when the session ended I stopped, but I’m wondering if I could finish it more from my memory? 🤔 sounds like a fun adventure to me! 😊
Done ✅: Today I unearthed this drawing in the studio and felt inspired to work on it.
I stopped working on this over a year ago because something just wasn’t right and I couldn’t seem to fix the issue. Today I was able to fix the mistakes in 10 minutes.
Funny enough it’s this man’s birthday tomorrow.
Happy birthday my love! ❤️ Thank you for always believing in me and encouraging me to keep creating. I love you until the end of time.

TBT: a few years ago I made an attempt at a self-portrait. This is the super rough product of that attempt. I think it’s time to try again, and to be a little kinder to myself 😂 #artistconcentrationface
You’re never too young to start appreciating art. Nora had her first gallery experience today. I haven’t gotten to make much art these past months as I learn how to manage life with a little one, but we plan on spending a lot of our summer outside appreciating and painting this beautiful state of Vermont. In the mean time, I’m getting my home studio space set up right to get something out of the last of this winter. #babylovesart #painting
Tuesday portrait sketch. Not sure how many more of these sessions I can do, but I'm grateful for each one! #portait #sketch #drawing #bixbypainters #bixbylibrary #vergennes #vtartist
